Four Foods on Friday

Time to head down to the kitchen for Four Foods on Friday, brought to as always by Val and Fun, Crafts and Recipes. BUT FIRST: you must ogle my kitchen counter. That clean, empty space is usually not there; it is usually filled with STUFF. The difference is two ladies came to my house yesterday and cleaned EVERYTHING within an inch of its life. OMG I am so happy. Maxwell was furious because, "They cleaned everything, now I can't find ANYTHING!" Heh. Without further ado, Four Foods on Friday from my unnaturally clean kitchen.

Here are this week’s four questions.

#1. American cheese. Sliced fresh or prepackaged processed cheese product?
Like fresh best, but lately I've been trying to avoid full fat dairy, so I've been doing 2% or Fat Free slices.

#2. What is your favorite cracker?

Kashi TLC, any of the flavors, or good ol' Ritz.

#3. What hot breakfast cereal do you like? Think oatmeal, farina, grits, etc.
I'm an oatmeal chick, either steel cut when I have time, or those new Quaker Simple Harvest envelopes if I don't. Brown Sugar Pecan is divine!

#4. Share a recipe that uses corn.

Most of the corn consumption chez moi involves the vegetable at its most basic, on the cob, or out of the freezer or can with butter and salt. I did make a yummo Crab and Corn Bisque once upon a time, but the recipe has gone. I found this one at allRecipes.com that looks about the same as the one I used. Corn and Crab Bisque, a la tattoochicc.
(Ed. note: I had another recipe here when I originally posted, but it would not behave correctly...)

Ta Dah!!! I wonder how long I can hold out and not splatter grease and flour and stray peanut butter on my (did I mention unnaturally?) clean counters?? That's OK, the ladies will be back next week.
