Again, I'm a tad late, but it is time for Four Foods on Friday, beginning with a rare sight. You realize, dear Internet, that you are seeing something that has never been photographed, let alone gazed upon by eyes outside my most intimate circle. Yes, ladies and germs, the inside of the fridge at my house. Lovely, no? On to the frosty quick frozen version of the game this week.... as always, brought to you by Val at Fun, Crafts and Recipes.
#1. What brand of frozen dinners do you think are the best and why?
I haven't done frozen dinners other than Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine in ages, but I do seem to fondly remember an occasional Stouffer's Lasagna, so I'll go with that.
#2. What is your favorite frozen waffle or breakfast food?
We are addicted to Leggo my Eggos, usually the Special K or Nutri-Grain variety. (Gotta feel like there was at least an effort made to be healthy...)
#3. Frozen appetizers. Which one is your favorite?
Oops, again I draw a blank. The only frozen appetizer experience I have is with Jeno's Pizza Rolls. I'll have to read everyone else's entries to get some ideas!
#4. Share a recipe or meal made from at least one frozen food.
I found this on allrecipes.com. It was submitted by REINEJESSICA. She said,"This is among my husband's favorite dinners! The flavors compliment each other so well and it is so easy! I use frozen bread dough to speed the process. Set out dough before you leave for work and you are ready to go by the time you get home!"
Basil Goat Cheese Pizza
PREP TIME 35 Min
COOK TIME 16 Min
READY IN 2 Hrs 51 Min
INGREDIENTS
1 (1 pound) loaf frozen white bread dough, thawed
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 sprig fresh basil, chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
3/4 cup Italian tomato sauce
4 ounces crumbled goat cheese
2 sprigs fresh basil, chopped
DIRECTIONS
Allow dough to rise in a covered bowl until doubled in bulk.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Roll the dough on a floured surface into a 15-inch circle. Roll the edges towards the center to form a crust, leaving a 12-inch circle. Brush the entire crust generously with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, 1 sprig of chopped basil, and rosemary. Bake in preheated oven until the crust begins to turn golden, 8 to 10 minutes.
Spread the crust with tomato sauce. Sprinkle with 2 sprigs of chopped basil and goat cheese. Bake in preheated oven until the crust is brown, and the pizza has heated through, about 8 more minutes.
Okay, there's my FFoF (on Saturday) post for the week. And can you find the brown mustard? It disappeared into the fridge some time ago and no one's seen it since...
