The end of the week has arrived, and I see a white light emanating from the kitchen... music wafts toward me... In a white room, with black curtains, by the station... everything is so... clean! Oh, yeah, the cleaning ladies came yesterday, but that's not the only thing. It's the color of Four Foods on Friday this week. We're talking full spectrum light -- and white foods, brought to you as always by Val of Fun, Crafts and Recipes.
1. What’s your favorite white beverage? If you don’t have one, what’s your favorite beverage with something white in it?
Gotta go with the standard milk. It has to be coldcold, and I've gotten used to low-fat or skim.
2. What’s your favorite white gravy, sauce, condiment, dressing or topping?
Ranch dressing or tartar sauce!
3. What’s your favorite white item from the refrigerated section?
Mozzarella cheese, for putting on pizza or into lasagna, on onto garlic bread.
4. Share a recipe for something white.
This is how I serve my fave white vegetable, cauliflower. I steam it in the microwave for about seven minutes for a whole, broken into pieces, and then drain and dress with olive oil, wine vinegar, a splash of worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Yum. Good eaten warm or chilled.
