Four Foods on Friday from Fun, Crafts and Recipes gets sweet and sticky this week -- the questions are all about candy. Don't mind me, I'll be semi-conscious, covered in Tootsie Roll wrappers.
#1. Candy. Do you prefer sweet or sour candy?
I like sweet candy, although I do enjoy a SweeTart or two for a change.
#2. Gum. Love it? Hate it? What kind is your favorite?
Love gum. Addicted to Altoids Cinnamon gum. Buy it by the case, have some on my person at all times.
#3. What is your favorite candy?
Too broad a subject. Halloween candy: Tootsie Roll Midgees, SweeTarts, teeny Snickers. Grocery store: mint 3 Musketeers & 10 Grand bars. Easter, Heavenly Hash eggs, Christmas, chocolate covered cherries, peppermint bark (the stuff I make...) Premium: anything Godiva puts in a little gold box.
#4. Share a recipe for anything that you can include a piece of candy in.
Milky Way Cake -- sweet, decadent and soooo good. I got this on cooks.com.
MILKY WAY® CAKE
8 lg. MILKY WAY® candy bars
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. chopped pecans
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
Melt MILKY WAY® candy bars and 1 stick of butter; set aside. Cream sugar and 1 stick butter. Add eggs to this mixture and add alternately flour, soda, and buttermilk. Add melted candy and butter; add pecans. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes in a bundt pan.
ICING FOR MILKY WAY® CAKE:
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cream
1 pkg. milk chocolate morsels
1 stick butter
Dash of salt
1 jar marshmallow creme
Cook all 5 ingredients until it forms a soft ball in cold water. Then add marshmallow creme and mix well. Spread on cool cake.
