We got back to New Iberia this afternoon, to full power, full internet and refrigerator full of gunk. The first two, indescribably wonderful, the third, being dealt with as I blog (okay there's refrigerator shelves soaking in the sink whilst I take a break to let you know we're good. No, amend that, we're remarkably good.)
This is a picture of the only damage to the house. I don't know if you can see that the right side of the fascia is missing. That's it. That is all. We are thrilled to be back. We even had a tiny vacation at the Magnolia Hotel in Houston. Took the medium boy to the Dinosaur Museum, (otherwise known as the Natural Science Museum outside our circle) let him whoop it up in the rooftop lap pool at the hotel, had dinner at the Aquarium and ogled fish while eating fish. Well, I just wanted to let y'all know... more later, and I'll be catching up with all that went on whilst I was evacuated.
